The Friends of Lisgar Gardens and Hornsby Council  invite you to our 21th edition of the Camellia Gala Day.

Keynote Speaker: Dr Stephen Utick, Secretary of Camellias Australia, International Camellia Society Director for Australia, Walter Hazlewood Award of Honour

> From 12:00 to 14:00, Camellia bloom identification: Bring along your camellia blooms for identification – for every confirmed identification a gold coin donation would be appreciated.

> From 14:00 to 15:00, The Formation and work for Camellia Ark Australia Incorporated and the importance of Lisgar Gardens in preserving rare/heritage camellias. Followed by a short walk to view some of the camellia gems of Lisgar Gardens.

Ikebana demonstration: Sandy Marker, Sogetsu Ikebana teacher, 2015 Norman and Mary Sparnon scholarship winner for Australia. Sogetsu Ikebana is a school of Japanese art of flower arrangement.

> From 11:00 to 12:00, Sandy Marker will offer a demonstration of Sogetsu Ikebana and a workshop.

Setting up a community garden: Tanya Mein

> From 12:00 to 12:30, embrace the chance to come together, as a community, to share knowledge, food, and develop friendships. Find out how to start a community garden in your area.

Origami Workshop: Hanae Bansemer, experienced Japanese Origami artist

> From 12:00 to 13:00, come and learn from Hanse about different origami techniques and styles.

Jazz session: Jim Jam Music,

> From 12:00 to 12:30, loose yourself in the beautiful Lisgar Garden and the fun activities while enjoying the wonderful Jazz music, brought to you by Jim Jam Music.

Composting, Tanya Mein,

> From 12:30 to 13:00, wondering about what to do with your garden and kitchen wastes? Welcome to the world of composting! Composting is a fun and easy way to recycle your garden and kitchen wastes, and it improves your garden soil, save spaces in your red and green bin, and it can also save you money! Come and learn composting from the expert.
